India is once again on the U.S. State Department’s Tier 2 Watch List because it has not met the minimum standards for the elimination of human trafficking. According to the US Human Trafficking Report 2009, India is a source, destination, and transit country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation.
