Birth control pills and condoms are available throughout Brazil. At government-run drugstores, they are free and at private drugstores, birth control pills are sold at highly subsidized costs. The morning-after pill (a pila do dia siguente) is available at pharmacies in Brazil and in metro stops in Sao Paulo, and costs about RS20.

Abortion is currently legal upon request up until the 12th week of pregnancy, the 22nd week for social reasons, and at any point during pregnancy if the woman’s health is at risk. Contraceptives are available over the counter at pharmacies, but emergency contraceptives requires a doctor’s prescription.

Contraceptives are widely available in Switzerland. Oral contraceptives must be prescribed by a physician. If you need just one months suppy, a pharmacist in Switzerland will likly let you buy one months worth without a prescription (you will have to specify which birth control you take). The emergency contraceptive pill is available over the counter at local pharmacies.
